“Woman Refuses to Pay Restaurant Bill — Claims Facebook Will ‘Take Care of It!’ ”

A bizarre incident at a local restaurant has gone viral after a woman reportedly refused to pay her bill, claiming that “Facebook will handle it.” The shocking moment, captured on an officer’s bodycam, has left both viewers and restaurant staff in disbelief.

According to witnesses, the woman entered the restaurant, ordered a full meal, and enjoyed her food without issue. But when the time came to settle the bill, things took an unexpected turn. Instead of pulling out a wallet or phone, she confidently told the waiter, “Facebook’s paying for me today.”

At first, staff thought it was a joke. One server even laughed and asked if she meant a Facebook promotion or some kind of influencer deal. But the woman doubled down. “I’m serious,” she replied. “I’m an ambassador, and Facebook covers my meals. You can check online.”

When the restaurant manager approached, the woman continued insisting that the bill should be “submitted to Facebook for reimbursement.” After several minutes of confusion, staff realized she had no intention of paying and called local authorities to resolve the situation.

Bodycam footage shows officers arriving to find the woman standing near the counter, arms crossed, and refusing to budge. “Ma’am, how exactly is Facebook supposed to pay for your food?” one officer asks. Without missing a beat, she responds, “Through my account. They owe me.”

The officer, visibly trying not to laugh, explains that’s not how payment works. “You can’t just eat and expect a social media site to pay your bill,” he tells her. “You need to pay the restaurant directly.”

Still, she refused. “You don’t understand,” she said confidently. “I went viral last year — they said they’d take care of me.”

After more than 15 minutes of negotiation, officers offered her one last chance to pay before charges could be filed. Eventually, she reluctantly handed over a few crumpled bills, far short of the total. To avoid escalation, the restaurant manager decided to accept the partial payment and ban her from returning.

The video, which quickly spread online, has racked up millions of views, with social media users calling it one of the most ridiculous dine-and-dash attempts ever recorded. “She really thought Mark Zuckerberg was gonna Venmo the restaurant,” one commenter joked. Another added, “This is why aliens won’t visit Earth.”

Restaurant employees later confirmed that the woman was not affiliated with Facebook in any way and had never participated in any sponsored programs. “She just walked in, ate, and made it everyone else’s problem,” the manager said. “We’ve seen all kinds of excuses — but this one takes the cake.”

While the incident ended without arrest, authorities reminded the public that attempting to skip out on a bill is a criminal offense, no matter how creative the excuse.

As one officer put it in the video’s final moments, shaking his head:
“Next time, ma’am, maybe call Facebook before you order dessert.”
