In the aftermath of the catastrophic Helene flooding, one family’s heartbreak turned into pure joy when their missing dog was discovered alive — perched high in a treetop after being swept away by raging floodwaters.
The emotional rescue unfolded in western North Carolina, one of the regions hit hardest by Tropical Storm Helene. As torrential rains transformed peaceful rivers into violent torrents, dozens of families were forced to evacuate — including the Miller family, who fled their home with little more than the clothes on their backs.
