A chilling police bodycam video has gone viral after capturing what some are calling one of the most disturbing encounters ever recorded — a scene that many online viewers claim shows signs of demonic possession.
The footage, released by local authorities in Phoenix, Arizona, begins as officers respond to a 911 call from neighbors reporting loud screams, strange chanting, and furniture being thrown inside a suburban home late at night. When police arrive, they find a visibly shaken woman outside who tells them her boyfriend had been “acting possessed” for hours.
“He’s not himself,” the woman can be heard saying. “He’s speaking in voices that aren’t his.”
When officers enter the home, bodycam footage shows a man standing motionless in the center of the living room, shirtless and breathing heavily. The walls are covered in what appear to be scratch marks and scattered belongings. One officer shines his flashlight toward him and asks if he’s alright — that’s when things take a dark turn.
The man suddenly snaps his head upward, eyes wide, and begins muttering words that officers describe as “unintelligible but unnerving.” He then lets out a growl-like sound and moves toward them. Officers immediately order him to stop, with one shouting, “Stay where you are!”
Despite repeated warnings, the man continues walking forward before abruptly collapsing to his knees and screaming, “You can’t stop what’s inside me!” The officers quickly restrain him while calling for paramedics.
“It was one of the creepiest calls I’ve ever responded to,” said one of the responding officers, whose name was withheld. “He had superhuman strength for a few moments — it took all three of us to hold him down.”
Medical reports later revealed that the man had no drugs or alcohol in his system. He was taken to a psychiatric facility for evaluation, where doctors described his condition as a psychotic break possibly triggered by extreme stress and lack of sleep.
Still, the video has sparked fierce debate online, with thousands of comments speculating about the possibility of something supernatural.
“The growling didn’t sound human,” one viewer wrote. “I’ve never heard anything like it.”
“There’s always a logical explanation,” another commented. “But this one really makes you wonder.”
Experts in psychology caution against jumping to paranormal conclusions.
“Extreme psychological episodes can produce very real and terrifying behavior,” said Dr. Linda Carr, a clinical psychiatrist. “What looks like possession may actually be a severe mental health crisis.”
Meanwhile, police say they’ve released the footage to raise awareness about mental health emergencies and to remind the public to seek help early.
