Authorities have arrested a 17-year-old suspect accused of brutally attacking a female coworker outside a retail store, leaving her with multiple serious injuries. The shocking attack, which took place in broad daylight, was captured on bodycam footage as paramedics rushed to save the victim’s life while police launched a manhunt for the fleeing teen.
The incident occurred just after 2:00 PM outside a large retail chain, where both individuals were employed. Witnesses say the confrontation began inside the store and quickly escalated into violence. According to employees, the suspect — whose name has not been released due to age — had been arguing with the victim over a workplace dispute before the situation spiraled out of control.
“She was just doing her job,” one coworker told local reporters. “Next thing we knew, he snapped. It all happened so fast — she didn’t even have time to defend herself.”
Police reports state that the teen attacked the woman using a sharp object, inflicting several deep wounds before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim, a 42-year-old woman described as a long-time and well-liked employee, was found bleeding heavily outside the store.
Bodycam footage from responding officers shows the chaotic aftermath — coworkers attempting to apply pressure to the victim’s wounds as police secure the scene. “Just relax, we got the paramedics coming,” one officer can be heard saying in the footage as emergency responders arrived.
The suspect was later spotted by surveillance cameras several miles away, prompting a multi-agency search that lasted several hours. Local schools were temporarily placed on lockdown as authorities tracked the suspect’s movements. Eventually, officers located the teen hiding in a wooded area behind a nearby apartment complex.
