A late-night traffic stop that started as routine quickly turned into a real-life action movie when a woman sped away from police, crashed violently, and set her car on fire — in a scene that many online are comparing to something straight out of Final Destination.
The dramatic footage, captured by bodycam and dashcam video, shows the woman behind the wheel of a dark sedan, visibly agitated as an officer approaches her window. The timestamp on the video reads September 8, 2023, and the footage has since been shared thousands of times across social media under the label “Part 1 – Real Time Crime.”
According to police reports, the woman had been pulled over for a minor traffic violation — but as the officer attempted to issue a citation, she suddenly revved her engine and sped off, nearly clipping the officer’s leg in the process. The stunned officer immediately radioed for backup, shouting, “She’s fleeing! She’s taking off westbound!”
What followed was a chaotic high-speed pursuit through narrow city streets, with dashcam footage showing the suspect weaving dangerously between cars and running multiple red lights. At one point, sparks can be seen flying from beneath the vehicle, possibly from damage sustained during the chase.
Moments later, the woman lost control of the car, slamming into a curb before spinning into a parked delivery truck. The impact sent debris flying across the street and ignited a small fire near the vehicle’s front end. Within seconds, flames spread under the hood, engulfing the car in thick smoke.
Despite the growing fire, the woman can be seen refusing to exit the car, screaming incoherently as officers approach. “Get out of the vehicle!” one officer shouts repeatedly, but she continues to resist until officers forcibly pull her out and drag her to safety.
Fire crews arrived minutes later to extinguish the blaze, but by then, the video had already begun circulating online, leaving viewers stunned by the intensity of the footage.
“This is like a movie scene,” one commenter wrote. “It’s a miracle no one else got hurt.”
“You can literally see the car explode into flames — pure insanity,” another added.
Authorities later confirmed that the woman, whose name has not been released, was under the influence of multiple substances at the time of the incident. She now faces a long list of charges, including reckless endangerment, fleeing police, destruction of property, and DUI.
Police spokesperson Lt. Rachel Porter described the event as “one of the most dangerous and unnecessary chases” she’s seen in years:
“This could have easily ended in multiple f*talities. The driver’s actions put countless lives at risk for absolutely no reason.”
The viral video has reignited discussions online about mental health, substance abuse, and the dangers of resisting law enforcement. Many commenters pointed out that the woman’s erratic behavior showed clear signs of panic and disconnection from reality.
As for the officers involved, they escaped without injury, though one patrol car suffered minor front-end damage during the pursuit. The incident is now being used in police training videos to highlight the unpredictable — and often explosive — nature of even the simplest traffic stops.
One viral caption summed it up perfectly:
“She ran from a ticket… and drove straight into chaos.”
