What was supposed to be a simple first shift at a convenience store turned into a full-blown police incident — after a disagreement between two employees spiraled out of control within hours of meeting.
The now-viral bodycam footage, recorded in early December 2023, shows a heated confrontation inside a late-night retail shop. The video begins with officers entering the store, where a visibly upset man stands near the counter, explaining that he had called 911 over a workplace dispute with his new co-worker.
Behind the counter stands a woman in a dark jacket, arms folded, her expression unbothered. The caption on the footage reads: “First time working together… and he ends up calling the cops!”
According to reports, the two had only met that day — both assigned to the same shift for the first time. What began as minor disagreements about cleaning duties and register management allegedly escalated when tempers flared, leading to accusations of harassment and “disrespect.”
“She kept yelling at me and calling me lazy,” the man tells the responding officer.
“I told him to stop talking to me like I’m a child,” the woman fires back.
Store security footage and witness accounts later confirmed that neither party became physically aggressive, but the shouting match grew so loud that customers began recording on their phones, prompting the manager — who wasn’t present at the time — to instruct one of them to call police for de-escalation.
When officers arrived, the tension in the air was palpable. The video captures the moment an officer calmly separates the two and asks each for their side of the story. The woman, appearing frustrated, insists that her co-worker “overreacted” to her feedback, while the man maintains that she was “verbally aggressive” and “creating a hostile environment.”
“This woman’s only been here a week, and she’s already made three people cry,” one employee can be heard saying off-camera.
The officer ultimately explains that no crime has been committed but strongly advises the manager (who arrives mid-scene) to separate the pair for future shifts. The woman rolls her eyes as she’s told to clock out early.
Within hours of the footage being uploaded to social media, the clip exploded — amassing over 10 million views under tags like #WorkplaceDrama, #FirstDayFails, and #KarenAtWork.
Commenters couldn’t believe what they were seeing:
“Imagine calling the cops on your first day at work,” one viewer wrote.
“That’s not orientation — that’s interrogation!” another joked.
But others took a more serious tone, pointing out how workplace stress and poor management can easily lead to blow-ups like this.
Workplace behavior specialist Dr. James Fowler noted:
“When communication breaks down in high-pressure, low-pay environments, even small conflicts can feel explosive. It’s a symptom of burnout and frustration — not just bad behavior.”
According to insiders, the woman was later reassigned to another location, while the new employee reportedly quit after the incident, saying he “just wanted peace, not police.”
The clip remains one of the most surreal workplace videos online — a chaotic reminder that sometimes, your first day on the job can also be your last.
