A shocking video from inside a Pike County detention facility has sparked outrage across the country — and now, justice has finally been served.
A former sheriff’s deputy has been sentenced to more than 8 years in federal prison after an incident where he was seen repeatedly using force and chemical spray on a restrained inmate.
The footage, which later became key evidence in court, shows the officer approaching a man who was already sitting, handcuffed, and unable to defend himself. What happened next stunned investigators, prosecutors, and the public alike.
According to official reports, the deputy struck the restrained individual multiple times and deployed pepper spray at close range — despite the man posing no threat. The disturbing footage was described by one investigator as “an abuse of power in its purest form.”
